VITA Piana parasol on a natural-stone terrace

Advice

A parasol consists of a mounting, a pole with crown and a fabric canopy. The model determines which mountings, sizes, fabric qualities and colours are possible. It is best to start with the following questions.

  • How large is the area to be shaded, and is it rather round or angular? This decides the size and shape of the canopy.
  • What do you want to shade? Over a table or lounge a cantilever parasol suits best, over loungers a centre-pole parasol.
  • What is the ground like? Lawn, paving, concrete or a balcony each need a different mounting.
  • Is the spot exposed to wind? Then the wind-resistant models of the F line are worth a look.
  • Which fabric quality and colour suit your house, garden and furniture?
  • Should the parasol give light in the evening or serve as a privacy screen? LED models, Osyrion spots and tiltable cantilever parasols cover both.
